About JKO - a message from the Program Manager
Dear Friends of JKDDC
Welcome to the new JKO Internet Public portal! As promised, we continue with steady enhancements to JKO and the extension of a full-suite of JKO portal functions and features to the Internet Public site has been one of my highest priorities. We’ve been seeing great response to the JKO NIPRnet portal and I’m expecting even greater response to the public site.
OVER:
- 947,085 hits
- 59,593 users
- 165,984 enrollments
- 73,638 course completions
- 206 courses (~1,144 hrs of instruction) available... and counting... (since April 2007)
As much as we’ve served our military partners through the JKO NIPRnet portal, we now look to reach out further to our multinational, interagency and intergovernmental partners through the JKO public portal. JKO prepares individuals for integrated operations which may be Combined Joint Task Force operations involving members of the different branches of Service, but can also span humanitarian efforts, first responder operations, disaster relief, etc. involving a variety of military and non-military organizations. And that is why it is so important that we prioritize JKO outreach to joint operators, multinational, intergovernmental and interagency individuals that may be involved in integrated operations.
With the exception of classified courses, all great joint training, information and resources are available on the JKO Internet Public site including courseware of multinational, NATO and interagency interest. And we are continuously working to enhance JKO relevance and utility to multinational, interagency and intergovernmental users and expanding relevant courseware offerings. Further, the public portal will also serve to connect military family members that were not able to access via the NIPRnet. We are truly reaching out to live up to our motto to be individually focused – globally shared.
Our focus for the future is on taking a leadership role in state of the art content development capabilities, expanding reach to the broadest spectrum of users possible, interactive instruction and immersive training environments to enhance performance of all partners in integrated operations based assignments, and emphasis on defining measures of effectiveness with meaningful metrics and assessment tools and methods.
Thank you once again for your great support! And as always – we value your opinion so please let us know how we can improve the site for your use.
